In coastal community in NC, USA. New single family home - moved in 3 months ago.
Woke up to dimmed lighting, non-working appliances, slow turning exhaust fans, etc. Found out that the sewer company shoveled the buried electrical lines during the building process and they have been degrading/corroding over the past 5 months. Minimal power one morning alerted us of the problem. Brown out type conditions. No reading on interior outlets.
1. How much life did I just lose on all of my brand new appliances: Refrigerator, Washer, Dryer, Stove, Dishwasher?
2. How much damage could there be to my HVAC unit that has been running with less power over the past 3 months we have been living here? It's a 3 story 2800 sq. ft. home with a thermostat on every level.
Asking because I don't know and am going to approach the builder about extending our warranties due to delivering a home with a degraded power supply.
Thanks!
Shehla
