Need Help With A Bottle Titling Mechanism

10/16/2014 12:04 AM

We are working a project when a glass bottle of considerable strength (ie, not very fragile) needs to be tilted around Y axis by 90 degrees. The bottle/s are in feed in -ve X direction through a conveyor. Andy ideas are welcome.

Why not feed them in in the -ve X direction instead?

Problem solved.

If not, more detail is needed.

I am sorry. There is a small correction. The bottles needs to be titled towards positive Z axis.

The bottle is circular. But we are trying to make it fall on it's positive x axis while it changes the direction.

Change the orientation before the direction.

Great picture!

For aluminum, steel cans (beer, soda, pop, paint, etc.) of light weights, the upright dividers are usually not used. A section of rails aligned to twist the container 90o is used. The rails are on the sides, top and bottom of the cans. Forward motion is attained by the force of the cans behind it on the conveyor. This set up is especially good if the conveyor is overhead. Keeps the containers from "raining" down on personnel.

Again, great picture.

Good Luck, Old Salt

Didja ever notice that we can always count on S.E. to post great pictures of just about anything? I am quite amazed at how quickly they are posted and they don't seem to be yanked off of Wikipedia (my first choice for least-amount-of-work pictures).

Cheers !!

Hear hear, let's double the pay he gets from the forum.

...

Wait, nobody gets paid anything around here, so double nothing is still nothing.

...

Oh well, it's the thought that counts, so let's triple his pay from here instead.
