For a horizontal shaft, couple of installations exist already, but wow, never read the entire page, this is a maglev elevator, i say this is totally new to elevator technology, sort of like rail system.

In culinary terms, this response is like a collapsed soufflé.

It depends on how you cook it.

Interesting idea.

It solves the basic problem of cables requiring one shaft per car.

I'd like to be sure the emergency brake system is foolproof.

in culinary terms, you are like a reduced balsamic vinegar, always adds a kick to meats and salads.

Anyway, my mentor, Dr. Reeves called them Fat Boxes.

And Willy Wonka's Glass Elevator (called a Wonkavator in the Gene Wilder version of the movie).

The idea's been around seemingly forever, we just got someone to work most of the technical kinks out.

Is it for single passenger?.If many passengers going in different directions get into it how can they manipulate?.

Travelators can travel horizontally in each floor as in airports.

In outdoors the "horizontal elevator" is known as "Electric Train",indoors where will be halts or stations-inside a single building or from one building to another. If in adjacent buildings floor levels are same, to go from one to another one can use horizontal elevator instead of going outside to the road and taking a bus or car or train,much convenient.Who can implement this,only local authorities who approves building drawings before construction can do it,or by law?. Alternatively in every 5 floors they can have horizontal elevators to travel from one building to another in a city.

This isn't Gizmodo, but it might as well be--National Enquirer for pseudo-engineers. There seems to be confusion between maglev and linear motors, and no clear description of operating sequences. That's too bad, because there are probably some meritorious ideas that are being obscured.
