Turning a Staircase into a Piano

This Volkswagen commercial is about one effort to get people to take the stairs instead of the escalator (presumably for the exercise). The company turned a staircase at a Stockholm subway station into a piano and videotaped how travelers responded.

The best idea since sliced bread. Tuned steps. I would hate to be at the end of some scale or melody and be disturbed by a hoard of ignorance though. A rule of "one at a time" would have to be in place to make it fun but that would slow things down. I am surprised they didn't come up with a more impressive clip, like the Hammer Klavier Sonata played by 8 professional and very fit pianists. They would have to be on all fours at times but would be interesting to watch. Are the steps 'weighted'?
