U.S. Cyclist Accused of Computer Hacking

Posted February 16, 2010 7:52 AM

From CNET News.com:

A French judge has issued a national arrest warrant for U.S. cyclist Floyd Landis on hacking charges. The warrant was issued January 28 after French anti-doping authorities accused Landis of hacking into one of their laboratory computers, Pierre Boudry, the president of France's anti-doping agency, the Agence Francaise de Lutte contre le Dopage, told Reuters on Monday.

Wow, this is a paradoxical position for the laboratory that accused Landis of doping. Landis claims that these documents proves that the laboratory mishandled the samples. By charging Landis with hacking and stealing their records they appear to be validating these documents that supposedly proves it.

It most definitely is. This is a war that has raged for some 10 years. Poor Floyd was one of Lance's buddies and he bore the brunt of it.

It is time for the French cycling "authorities" to grow up. The Tour de France is a great race there are competitors from all over the world. If they want a Frenchman to win, they are going to have to limit entrance to French only competitors. As long as it is open to real men, the French will never win.

Why just limit it to the French cycling "authorities", and drop "cycling authorities".
