From CNET News.com:
The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday detailed plans for its so-called "third way" to reclassifying broadband traffic so that it can reassert the agency's authority for regulating the Internet.

I like this;
In his statement Thursday, Genachowski said he is taking an approach that would apply some telecommunications regulation on broadband but not all regulation. He emphasized that this would be a light regulatory approach that would still encourage investment in broadband.
damn bureaucrats;
Next they'll say, were going to tax it. But its OK, because ir will only be a temporary tax.

I agree it's an unpalatable option. But there should be some policy at least theoretically responsive to the needs and wants of citizens to roam the Internet untainted by the corporate bias of their ISP's (and their ISP's partners), etc.
And since we can't rely on ISPs to resist temptation, nor the free-market system given the many areas served by only one (if one!) broadband provider...who you gonna call? Looks like a job for The Gov.
