MIT Student Develops Psychedelic 3D Gloves for Better Gesture Based Applications

Gesture based technology just took a turn down ugly street with MIT student's ultra colorful Lycra glove control option. Robert Wang the psychedelic student from the renowned educational facility along with his faculty adviser Jovan Popovićt are the designers of this colorful project. The various color sections on the gloves allow for a full range of hand gestures to be recognized by the corresponding computer system. It also enables the system to better recognize your hands as 3D shapes.

I'm sure this is the next big thing in shoehorning our way into the virtual world. looks like a break through for 3d cad people! (nerds like me)

This would be extremely useful toward producing instructions for the disassembly/assembly of machines, as the focus goes directly to the action with a much clearer picture of the orientation and spatial relation of the individual components.

And, Clowns would like them....

"Psychedelic"? Someone actually used the term 'psychedelic'? Ouch.

My brain cringes when it sees a dinosaur phrase like that suddenly show up. The cringe factor of that one is almost as bad as 'killer app', which always makes me wonder if the person who used the term is running Lotus 1-2-3 on their IBM PC.
