Posted September 03, 2010 9:29 AM

From Fast Company:

You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads! Now evidently my cycloptic colleague informs me that that cannot be done.... At Police Magazine's recent law enforcement expo, an army of exhibitors showed off the latest high-tech gadgets that'd satisfy the most elite SWAT teams, special forces--and even the bad guy from from Austin Powers. Applications for The devices showcased ranged from homeland security to overseas military efforts. Here are the top three highlights from the expo.

"The Python can tow about 200 pounds, climb stairs and blast someone with a taser or pepper spray."

I guess they'll be wanting to use this robot to approach the crazy people that are otherwise too hard to handle... you know, the ones who believe aliens are after them...

I just want to see the video, of the Python trying to tow the 200 lb tasered/pepper sprayed person back down the stairs, where the aliens americans protectors of public peace are waiting with the remote control. In darthly riot gear. Not the candid camera version, I mean the funny one. with actors. Okay, it's saturday night, i should have gone to a movie! Will the makers of Python please provide a demo!

These are not snake bots. Don't people consider for one second that the names they give to their inventions should reflect the nature of the invention and not the most off the wall obscure thing that pops into their mind? One wonders how many man hours are wasted investigating blind alleys due to this?
