In 2004, a 36-year-old California man faced that unappetizing conundrum after failed treatments for his ulcerative colitis meant he might need his colon removed, reports MyHealthNewsDaily. Instead, he hopped a plane to Thailand to see a parasitologist -- and then gulped down 1,500 parasitic worm eggs. We'll let you digest that for a minute.

1. The mama worms are specially trained to release a known # of eggs.

2. Yes he did. But as winter came on he received a number of behavior-modifying static electric shocks to certain sensitive parts of his anatomy.

I may be looking at this more seriously than everyone else. I wonder what type of parasitic worms they used (e.g. tape worms, hook worms, round worms, etc.).

helminth is a very generic term that cover all intestinal parasitic worms.

Accoring to the My Health Daily News article, the human whipworm was used. (Ugh! If you think you are infected with these rascals, one detection method is... I cannot even say it here. Second link should not be viewed by the squeamish)
