Professor Installs Camera in Head

Posted December 06, 2010 8:45 AM

From CNN.com - Technology:

Some students joke that their teachers have eyes in the backs of their heads. A New York University professor is now closer to that reality, having had a camera surgically implanted into the back of his cranium. Wafaa Bilal, an Iraqi born photography professor at the university's Tisch School of the Arts, had the procedure done at a piercing studio last month for an art project commissioned by a museum in Doha, Qatar, he said.

Oddly the article doesn't go on to explain what this Professor is planning to do with all the vast remaining empty space in his cranium.

He put the camera in his head because he couldn't install any common sense.

He considered another location for the camera, but realized it would give him a crappy outlook on life.

I wonder what will happen when he tries to get through the TSA screening process on his next flight?

"A project like this is meant to establish a dialogue about surveillance."

As if there wouldn't be enough dialog already. Introducing a paranoid freak to the discussion would help? Just mentioning art in that context is shameful. Get a life, not a second out look on it!

Yk

I saw this guy on the news, he could only put the camera on his implanted "mount" for a few seconds, because it hurt like hell... well, they said that's because it's fresh, but I have my doubts. Given the network of nerves on your scalp, mounting any weight on it is apt to cause a headache... I'll stick with my periscope, thankx....

My tin foil hat is just as painful but the pain is located elsewhere. It proves that there can be pain in a vacuum.

hmmm... very festive looking hat there. I like the pine cone. but it would probably give me a headache.

even this would give me a headache.

hence my decision never to marry royalty. a choice I have never regretted.
