The Ranger Wildtrak: A New Ford We Don't Understand

Posted March 11, 2011 8:30 AM by CarDomain

Here in America, we let the Ford Ranger die a slow, sad death. The rest of the world will be getting the new Wildtrak, however, revealed recently at the Geneva Auto Show.

The Ford Wildtrak will be equipped with either a 2.2L TDI or a 3.5L inline-5 diesel. It's wheelin' capacities look promising, too. Ford claims this little truck will be able to blast through water up to 31" deep, and it'll have a stiffened up frame with vulnerable components located above the level of the frame rails.

This sounds like an ideal vehicle for the apocalypse, but Ford must know something we don't, because such capabilities apparently will not become necessary here in the US. Lucky everyone else!

Interesting. Solid, durable, fuel efficient, and likely very reliable.

Unfortunatly for us thats four things that the auto manufactures here will never allow to get into our hands!
