Modified Marijuana Chemical Blocks Pain Without Buzz

From Wired Discoveries:

A new study suggests some of THC's painkilling effects are handled by a receptor previously unknown to interact with the cannabinoids. In the course of doing the research, a chemical was found to block pain without the high of marijuana.

Hockey... afaict is a celebration of pain. Much beer is consumed by the spectators. Strictly for its pain-killing properties, of course. No buzz, nah.

In reality, Marijuana does possess some decent pain killing properties... but I have always wondered how much of that was in the mind of the consumer due to the "high".

The more drugs we can create from natural plant extracts and similar the better I say.
