Canada-US Pipeline Decision Delay

The US is to reassess the route of the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline, delaying a decision until after 2012's election, the state department says.

Once again Obama is essentially voting 'present' (as he did so often as a senator) rather than actually making a decision. In this case, for something crucially important to our energy needs and our economy. And the US will continue to require oil from areas of conflict, repression and death rather than using 'ethical oil' from Canada and the US.

Zzzzzzz ... :-S Heeeere we go again.

You know, in the US, the federal Congress, $$$ interests, and local voters, can be trusted for only one thing: voting selfishly and generally messing things up. Just about the only way to get a major issue pushed through vigorously is to get a virile President to put his weight behind it; and so far, BO hasn't managed to be one.

Damn shame that the World (especially Canadians like Yours Truly, and even more Americans) suffer directly from US political nonsense all the time. Ooooh, but for the times of Reagan and (to a lesser degree) Bush I ... now, THEY were men.
