Has anyone yet discovered a substance that has NOT been linked to some form of Cancer?

Right on the spot !

Were we to live our lives avoiding all know and suspected risk factors, well, what would be the point of living. It's hardly a topic to make light of, but Cancer is something that will inevitably affect us all (directly or by people we know). Most elderly people die with cancer, though not necessarily of it.

Screening for the most common types makes sense, especially if there is a family history. Avoiding things like smoking makes sense (a factor am shamed to say I ignore). Just how many risk factors can a person avoid ?

Obesity aside, the food we eat is probably low in the order of things that we are at risk of dying from. Research into such things is a valid thing to do, but the goal posts keep moving.

Apparently higher taxes have not been linked to cancer. Obviously, more research must be done!

The risk increased by 19% for every 50g someone added to their daily diet. Having an extra 100g would increase the risk by 38%

So if I had a 1/2 kg of bacon/sausages everyday my risk would be well over unity?

What is the difference between an increased risk and a likelihood?

Sounds like the talk of statistics to me.

What is the base level risk that we are all exposed to regardless of lifestyle?

Everything gives you cancer.

I'm gonna have a fag now.....
