Spider Car

Posted May 02, 2007 5:13 PM

From Random Good Stuff - The Entertainment Blog:

This is not the Spidermobil (not the Batmobil either.. get it .. ) it's just a Spidercar and needs to go into production! Costing $15,000 and twice that amount in work hours, this novel creation took three months to design and six months to build.

Ok! Doesn't seem to practical and needs rubber shoes on those metal feet. Might be a good climber on uneven ground, and with big feet might be usefull on soft ground.

There is something to be said for simplicity.

Yeah, not very practical, but I KNOW they had fun designing and building it!

An expensive time consuming exercise in mechanical & other engineering disciplines and it is still a clunky, clumsy, loco-mobile.

About as useful as the buttons on boar's belly!

Do nothing simply if a way can be found to make it complex and wonderful!

What an extreme example of inspired mechanics. Wow!

Especially loved the dime-turns. Granted, it might do better on dirt than on asphalt, but - hey, that's what it's for.

Wow!

This guy should be a national hero ! Leaving bare metal feet for maximum effect was inspired. I'd love to go cruising in Spider-Car , it's cool.
