Your guess is better than mine! What I get from the article and video is that gravity and dark energy are forces that work contrary to one another, while magnetism is maybe a 'duke' to the 'king' gravity, produced by explosions and maintained by 'turbulence' in parts of outer space where it wouldn't be expected.

As a complete ignorant, I am guessing that there's no such 'turbulence' on earth to maintain a magnetic field (ie earth's gravity is indeed king and supercedes smaller turbulences). So the repeat experiment at Lawrence Livermore will create a bigger explosion and a magnetic field which is transient? I don't know much about experimental physics facilities but obviously containment is the first order of business, and so I'm curious how the facilities are designed to handle a magnetic field generated by an explosion (which might affect sensitive instruments, for example). Also wondering why the generation of magnetic fields by explosions hasn't been noticed and known for a long time.. ?
