It's probably out of warranty now.

The most remarkable discovery of the mission however is that in the entire 20+ mile journey, not a single Starbuck's was seen. Scientists have no explanation for this phenomenon.

I have a car like that, I made up my mind 5 years ago that when it died I'll get a new one......, I'm still driving it.

thats a very uninformed opinion, and a poor one at that.

Our past lunar missions, there is a good chance that what was developed for that save your life or someone you know.

This is no different, but because its not put in front of your nose, you don't know any better. But there's no law against being ignorant.

No, and apparently there is no law against being profligate with other people's money.

The space program has created much of the technology that you take for granted each and every day. Had it not been for tons of money to research, and invent new technologies to put things in space, and on other planets, many of the great things you know would not exist.

You can thank your "money wasting" space program for:

The hand-held vacuum cleaner

Air-cushioned trainers

Firefighter breathing apparatus

Blankets for marathon runners

Safer runways

Pill transmitters

Personal storm warning system

Better sunglasses (scratch proof)

The potential to preserve priceless art

Car crash technology

Longer golf shots

Plane wing-tips

Freeze-dried meals

Baby food

Hang gliders

Straighter teeth

Heat-absorbing sportswear

Heart surgery

Life support for patients

Medicinal light- emitting diodes

Artificial limbs

Intelligent underwear

Detection of forest fires

Plant research

Chromosome analysis

Better brakes

Life-saving heart technology

A possible end to water shortages

The self-righting life raft

Home blood pressure kits

Hydraulic rescue cutters

Satellite television

Voice-controlled wheelchairs

Mine-clearing technology

Long-life tires

Eye screening

The personal alarm system

And so many more we would be here all day just listing them...

Nice little research example RVZ717

probably should have references, but

An example is

The polymer on a Kirby Vacuum cleaner hose is a direct decendant of the space tech. The polymer was developed to avoid a puncture from a micro meteor.

Google "Everyday things invented by the space program" for an overwhelming list of references, and better examples.

I could list examples all day long...
