It'd be even more painful if they designed it correctly. Check the subject's reaction thru the process:

Another case of "caption this" that should be "what is it."

Anyway, i'll give it a shot:

"A signal indicator placed at the door similar to a tie. Leave in upright position if you have company."

Ergonomic??? Are you having a laugh? They better not put those on the "pull" side of a door, since anyone with arthritis won't bet able to use it. And why is it mounted in the middle of the door and not at the edge furthest from the hinge?

Pah!

Probably a good "Baby Oven" as the lower abdomen is more than adequate, although her skirt cheesecloth, seems to appear somewhat restraining for her.

Could be a 'Dutch' girl, 'cause ya all know what they all say about 'Dutch' girls - "Not much on the top, but lots of load on the bottom, ........and I got'em."

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Or as Billy Russell (an old English vaudeville comedian) once said in one of his shows, "it is really remarkable how far the human skin will stretch without bursting"

1. A Solution in search of a Problem.

[Well, not 'in search of,' really. More like 'lying in wait for, hoping no one will notice meanwhile and post a pic on some engineering forum somewhere in a furtive, last-ditch effort to ascertain its true identity, however unwittingly.']

2. An existential manifestation of the effect of someone having 'gotten a handle on' something. This particular model folds out of the way for easy stowage when not in use. While supplies last.

3. OCD Bait: used to lure certain obsessive/compulsive CR4 members into staring vacantly for hours at a blank editor wondering "What the heck is this thing?!" or, rather, "Why the heck is this thing?!"

4. A way to entice aforementioned CR4 members into enumerating five unique possibilities of which this is Possibility #4.

4. There is no Fifth Possibility.

It's a futility enabulator - it spurs on futile answers from CR4 members.

News Headline : "Engineering from around the word has ground to a halt"

It seems like terrorists have discovered that by posting stupid pictures on CR4, that the worlds engineers are now too busy trying to figure out what pictures are and trying to add witty quotes. The designing of new products and infrastructure has thereby been halted. Worlds economy will crumble, civilization will fall.

That would be a case of "Small things amuse small minds, while smaller minds look on"

How many of you would like to know what it really is?

If any of you are interested in the answer, you can go to this URL http://www.furpetsonly.com/sta-puttowelkeeper.aspx

I have really enjoyed your comments. Who said engineers don't have a sense of humor?

My guess, without looking at your link, is it is a nail clipper, but not possible to be sure without seeing it from the other side.
