C7 Corvette: The Latest

Check out the latest renderings of the next-generation 'Vette from Car & Driver. I think the rear is its best side: you can really see a lot of Camaro influence around the taillights. The front just looks kind of blah and probe-like, but I guess Corvettes have looked that way for at least the last two generations. I think Viper did a much better job with styling up front. The new Corvette will get a lot of aluminum and carbon fiber over the ongoing model, as well as direct injection: a first for its iconic pushrod V8, now called the LT1. The base Corvette will now make at least 450 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.

The front looks great, the back looks horrible, in my opinion.

I agree, The front is great. The back is too much like the Camaro.

The Camaro is well understood to be downmarket from the Vette. Bad choice to make the Vette look like a Camaro.

The back is hideous; the front is OK, but the whole shape is getting a little tired.

I like the front of the car. The sides look pretty good too. In fact, it has a more modern Ferrari 599 look to it. Then we get to the back! In my opinion, they blew it. The Camaro tail light style does not fit with the Corvette. The C6 rear looks like they ran out of money and threw it together. As you can tell, I don't like the back of the C6, but I'd take it over the new C7 rear.

Even with the bad rear, Chevy has something with the C7.
