You deserve an extra half point for considering land under glaciers.

I managed to get them all right. Multiple choice tests are all about the process of elimination.

Indeed I was. 1955 and no air conditioning. We had a 1950 GMC pickup. Family of 5. Poor white trash. We left LA 2:00 AM and drove through there at night. It was June, I think. Plenty hot.

Headed back to rural Arkansas and the farm, at about 35 MPH.

Sounds like hard times, but it conjurs up a really interesting image - almost like something from a Steinbeck novel. Cheers for sharing that - that whole concept of a family packing up and moving such a big distance in their car is very strange compared to Brit (1950's) lifestyle/culture.

I got it correct at 2nd attempt .

Reckon it's a trick question, 'cause everyone thinks "Death Valley - oh, wait - a place I've never heard of - that must be it!"

rofl !

I think the three of us can feel fairly at ease over the issue of hottest place. Can't remember the exact wording, but did it stipulate that it had to be someplace just heated by the sun ?

I don't see how this is possible....If this is accurate they have created some sort of rather significant fusion event....

Got the one about the lowest point on land wrong the first time, guess I looked at the term sea too quickly - oh well - very tricky. I passed my drivers test the first time though so that evens it out!

Given my one wrong answer, I'll probably get struck by lightning. I hope not that often!

100 times a second sounds painful. Dig the avatar, though!

I'm told that eating plenty of carrots will reduce the rate of lightning strikes
