Personally I would put Bluetooth at the top of my list of worst named stuff.

To me it should have been named something like Local Link since that's basically what it is and does.

MUST agree with tcmtech!!!!!

Bluetooth tells me pretty much nothing!!! I absoutley hate marketing departments that come up with this junk!! In my last company (my current one is pretty good) every time I met a marketing person, I told them my best friend from High School was in marketing. He used to sack the groceries for my Mom.

They don't laugh at that and pretty much left me alone for the rest of the meeting!!!

Bad on stuff - how about what it originally was - a Scandanavian king. Now that's a really bad name!

Along with Blue Tooth, I would add "Zigbee", which is a similar product, though more network oriented. I looked up the word and found it is the name of the "waggle dance" honey bees do when they return to the hive, to communicate with the other bees.

As someone already mentioned here, we should look at products designed and named by the Japanese, as their naming conventions, after translation, are very unusual and sometimes very funny to us.

I have to say that Mos Burger is one of my favorite Japanese fast-food-like places to grab a burger.

I still think that given their track record, Microsoft should have steered well clear of "windows 8": which can be pronounced wait.
