Smarter $100 Bill Goes Into Circulation Tomorrow

Posted October 07, 2013 9:29 AM

From Tech News Headlines - Yahoo! News:

Government shutdown or not, the American economy is going to get a fresh infusion of cash on Tuesday. The redesigned $100 bill that has had to overcome multiple delays is finally ready to enter circulation. An October 8th launch was promised back in April, but it seemed like that date could slip yet again following a printing snafu that consigned some 30 million notes to the incinerator.

If I was being sarcastic, I would say "Welcome to the 21st Century USA".

If I was being really accurate and sarcastic I would have said "Welcome to the 20th Century USA", or even "Welcome to the 19th Century USA".......

Now what we need is for the US Mint to cut the various denominations into different sizes, smallest denomination on smallest paper sizes. This allows blind people to find the right value note without any help! (All US paper money is of the same physical size!! I expect even the new $100 still is....)

It will also stop the trick of bleaching $1 bills and using the cleaned paper to print higher denominations in a format that only an expert can decide is counterfeit.....

That is (size being all the same for all denominations) only one of the problems with such forgeries....even the Euro has been forged and very well too I am told...but US money almost INVITES forgers to work.....

What about other countries with untrustworthy governments????

Don't forget, I am far, far from being an expert, if I know this, then the forgers know and understand 1000 times more......

Did they eliminate "In God we trust"? I hope not. Who else can you trust; the government?

"In God We Trust" is printed on the other side of the present note which I whipped out to compare with the shown specimen.

I wonder what the other side will look like? They didn't show that one.

Counterfeit notes are a bit of an issue here, notes are meticulously examined everytime you spend one here.

Nice to get a heads up.
