I saw three adverts and still don't believe it.

The original article did say that it was a charging arrangement rather than a high current jump start solution but the adds for the device show it immediately cranking an engine at quite a clip and, surprisingly, no smoke.

There's something we aren't being told or shown.....around $70 to find out?

I will submit that sometimes it just takes a little bit of charging of a flat cranking battery to get it to crank the engine slowly and just enough to maybe start but that thing is getting those engines to crank fast.......nah still skeptical.

Probably disturbed a dodgy battery connector and it all came good.....

An independent review is called for. Who has some money to burn?

I'm going to write these guys and see if they'll send me one to review.

I'm waiting for someone to say their wife called for help with a dead battery and asked the husband to push 'that button' on his phone to jump-start her car.

My ex called one day recently to say her car wouldn't start, that she thought the battery was dead. I told her that her iPhone has a hefty battery and to "stick it in the CD player slot as far as it will go and leave it there for 20 minutes to boost the car battery. Push hard if it doesn't go all the way in."

Too bad there are no cliffs where she lives.

This looks like Snake Oil (R) (TM) to me.

When an internal combustion engine is running, the alternator is able to supply more than enough juice to keep it going. The battery is there solely for the purpose of starting the engine. (Yes, it is the power source for all the 'supplemental electronics' in the car these days, but I'm trying to keep things simple.)

The car battery has always been a huge lead-acid battery for the simple reason that it NEEDS to be huge to have a low internal impedance, aka the ability to dump a 'metric boatload' of juice to run the starter motor and trigger the spark plugs.

Also, if you have ever looked at jumper cables, the copper cable between the clamps is as thick as a grown man's thumb.

This battery pack is the size of a cellphone, and to have the energy density for 6000mAh, then it's using some variety of Lithium cells, which are NOT known for low impedance, so it cannot 'jump-start' a car, despite what the adverts show.

Again, I say, Snake Oil (R) (TM)

They say it's a 6,000mAh battery, but don't make it clear what the voltage is. Guess we have to assume 12V, as there's no way I've heard of that a boost converter capable of giving 300A could fit in that case.
