Great Film & TV Robots From the 50s & 60s

Anne Francis was HOT. Even as a pre-teen, when I saw Forbidden Planet on TV, I thought she was a knockout.

The two robots, Gog and Magog, were from the movie Gog.

One robot that really scared the cr4p out of me when I was a kid in the late 50s was from a movie (serial) made in the 1930s, 'The Phantom Creeps', with Bela Lugosi as the mad scientist.

Yeah that was one scary looking robot...

...but you had to laugh at this one....

The movie 'Silent Running', starring Bruce Dern, had three robots that helped inspire George Lucas' vision of the robots for Star Wars. The robots were called 'Huey, Louie, and Dewey.'

The robot in Logan's Run was kind of dorky, but Jenny Agutter looked pretty good in that flick.

A very young Farrah Fawcett was in that movie, too.

Gort (and in this pic, his human companion, Klaatu), is alluded to in the article, but not named or pictured. The original, The Day the Earth Stood Still was much better than the remake, with a message/theme that resonates as long as there is violence in the world.
