That’s a sneak photo of the new Trump Tower.

Down the bottom off the hole is where we are building the prison cell .

up top is located that little outhouse with the glass floor , it’s where people can sit and drop their vote in an opinion poll after the impeachment.

Re: Caption This for 11/22/19 Generalization and Scaling

11/25/2019 5:13 AM

Avant-Garde Generalization and Scaling

Here is the original instructional video.

The video producer received lots of feedback from his viewers. He also assisted some of the viewers with some pointers regarding generalization and scaling.

Here is the actual comment from a couple of weeks ago:

This is a great tutorial! I am wanting to build a kaleidoscope
at a much larger scale and if you are able, it would be great
to get your opinion on some things!

The video producer dutifully assisted the viewer with mechanics of generalization and scaling. The generalization involved a fixed kaleidoscope with moving pattern pieces. The scaling was coarsely 1 inch -> 1 foot. The viewer also wanted to place four scopes together in a special arrangement so that performance art viewers could view different perspectives of the same "art" from the each of the four compass directions on giant screen TV's at a Burning Man style convention. As convention attendees passed beneath the exhibit their images generated kaleidoscopic snowflakes on the four rented giant screen TV's for other attendees to watch.

The video producer never heard from the viewer with the results of the query but... the original you-tube comment poster created the generalized and scaled device. When the original Burning Man Spin-off convention use for the device was over, the device without the TV's was stolen from the trash at the convention mass trash pick-up.

For a while four cardinal direction webcams were online at cardinaldirectionperformanceart.com

Here is the Generalized and Scaled result as seen from the publicly available moving object end as repurposed by some avant-garde art thief:

This is a fictional story made up of non-fictional fragments from the web as a plausible description of what the thread topic picture might portray. It attempts to show what otherwise innocent technology can end up enabling. The moral of the story is: Do not blame the technologist if some technology or other gets used for purposes that were not originally intended. If you seek to blame, those who had plausibly demonstrated no evil intent should never be included as a target. The art thief and his cardinaldirectionperformanceart.com URL are fictional, he is presumed to be the lavatory kaleidoscope deployment agent, and the other story characters are blameless.

In hindsight, I should have taken the plumbing contractors bid for the flat rate instead of agreeing to pay him by the hour.
