Sure! And while they are at it they could dry the corpses and use them to fire ovens to supply waste heat and collect the ashes. No corpses, waste heat generation. The ultimate in recycling technology. Better than Soylent Green!!

This may be cruel and very basic, but ... a human is 100% organic material and can therefore be used as food for other living organisms.

On the other hand, one could just burn the deceased.

Seriously, plantin' folks in the ground or a building or whatever just seems to be a waste of perfectly good real estate. Deep see burial is much better as the surface of the earth is 75% water and there are many creatures of the sea that can benefit. And burning the body just releases all that sequestered carbon contributing to global warming, never mind the gas or oil it takes to heat the oven.

As a seafood lover this idea appeals greatly to me. I love to eat crab, and they are bottom feeders, so they would likely be very happy to feed on human remains deposited on the sea floor. I can think of no better use for my remains than to feed the delicious crabs that I have enjoyed throughout my life.

Depending on the manner of death, don't forget organ donation. Then it's cremation for me, baby.
