Boy Invents a Foot-Powered Toilet Lid Lifter

Posted November 05, 2007 2:52 PM

From Neatorama:

Jake Wulf is a gifted 9-year-old boy from Odebolt, Iowa who has but one weakness: he can't remember to lower the toilet seat after he's done. Tired of his mom getting mad at him, he decided to invent the Privy Prop, a foot-powered lever sort of like the one you see for trash cans: It was during a visit to a doctor's office that Jake's idea for the "Privy Prop" began to take shape. He noticed the lid to a small trash can, which opened and closed with a foot-powered lever. He went home and told his parents that he wanted to design a similar device for the toilet. […] Jake built plywood base and then cut thin pieces of steel and fashioned a teeter-totter at the bottom. You step on it and the seats raises. You step off and it closes.

How does Jake remember to press the pedal ? I'll bet he can't multitask and use the flush handle whilst his foot is on that pedal. Anyway, why do women whine on about the seat, when closing the lid would be more sensible to argue about. Perhaps all men should be forced to sit down and do it girlie style ( a bit hard some mornings if ya know what I mean). His mom and others probably only complain because of the fun chaps can have directing the flow. They'll be sorry when sitting down they accidently put a foot in the wrong place.

What if the young man had made it powered? The ladies could be thrown in the air or crushed even!!!!!

No more complaints about the seat being up after that!!!!!!

LOL ! Quick, somebody mail Jake advice on high powered motors ! Maybe even some kind of wind up spring-loaded thing. There is huge potential here for the young fella to create an 'ejector toilet'. Crank it up while you take the ****. If the lad didn't already have intellectual copywrite, KrisDel Products Ltd would be right in there, except we're normally up to our necks in **** anyway.

Perfect, our Lady Guest might get upset though as PMS is down as Pretty Much Sucks, which of course could describe the situation very accurately too.....

...it may have started out at 12volts, but by the time it gets on the fence, it can be quite a "OUCH" lot more!!

Saw a video (taken from quite a distance!) of the effects of someone actually peeing on one.

Not to be repeated if it is ever to "Stiffen up" again, I would think.....as good an effect as saying "PMS" out loud I would think!!!!

I have two daughters and when you have 3 women all with PMS at the same time, "Dear God!!!!", luckily one moved out some years ago......and one has now got menapause....one left I can handle!!!

Dear Anonymous Girl,

from what I have seen, most women think everything is "Hunky-Dory" and normal when they are having their PMS "fun".....so you know when its there and try and deal with it in some way....my compliments, but you are probably 1 in 100 or less.....

Margaret Thatcher was the only one who never seemed to have it show.....so you might get to leading the country as well one day!! Good luck!

Nice try. It's halfway to the ultimate Seat & Lid problem.

Forgot to add a feature to close the lid too and to raise only the lid for the setters.

Next job is to invent a TP holder where the tissue comes off the roll without consideration as to whether it is from the front or back of the roll.
