Amazon to support Blu-ray format

Reuters - Amazon.com Inc announced its support for Sony Corp's Blu-ray format on Wednesday, days after Toshiba Corp pulled the plug on the rival HD DVD format, as key studios and retailers also took Blu-ray's side.

Tough for those who thought the rival HD-DVD would win the "DVD Format Wars".

Now they will need to go out and purchase a Blu-Ray reader/Writer Drive, and throw away the now obsolete format Drive.

Mind you, before Blu-Ray becomes useful, the Media will have to come down in price.

Far too expensive, let's hope that mass production of both Blu-Ray Drives and its Media will result in cheaper prices for both.
