The latter in some way heralds a rejuvenation for economically-impacted automotive and steel plants, which can now turn to the task of producing custom gears, gearboxes, and other components for wind turbines. Investment in wind infrastructure may spell a renaissance for the sagging manufacturing sector. Can this, and growth in other renewable energy forms, be the — ahem — wind beneath manufacturing's wings?
