Hold on one minute. Admittedly I'm not an engineer which means to me that the majority of you who are members of this website are much brighter than I am. I'm in the executive protection business but I must say that Sharkey's comments by definition don't make sense. In order to commit suicide, there must be a living entity who makes a deliberate decision to end their life by whatever means. Arguably that includes someone who straps on a suicide belt or vest, detonates themselves and in the process kills someone else. There's even a current debate within my community whether this should be called homicide bombing. Who knows? Regardless,arming a robot with improvised explosives and launching that robot against a target is nothing like a suicide bomber. That's basic warfare or terrorism 101. The robot is simply the means of delivery, period. There's scant difference between using a robot as a means of delivery or a car. Suicide bombing entails much more than the means of explosive delivery particularly in the context of religiously motivate suicide attacks or even suicide motivated by social/political causes as in the case of the Tamil Tigers.

Nice try for a headline grab but a fundamentally wrong in the context of suicide bombings.
