This would be good to add to sail boats for supplemental power. This could also be used in super hero capes to keep the utility belts charged. ( with respect to Marvel and DC comics)

Abosolutely. We should have hundreds or thousands of sailboats, all chained together in a long loop across a body of water, and the chains holding them together will be wound around a capstan at each end, attached to a turbine to generate power. Each boat will have automatic helm and sheet control. All the sailboats on one side of the loop will be on a starboard tack and the sailboats on the other side will be on a port tack. This too will be a great way to generate power.

Now that would be a site to see from the air. If you could get enough boats it would look like a giant pinwheel!!
