The Quick 10: 10 Mad Scientists

Posted October 15, 2008 10:57 AM

From mental_floss Blog:

Dr. Frankenstein, Dr. Moreau, Dr. Strangelove, and my favorite Dr. Frank N. Furter. Mad Scientists abound in science fiction, but what's scarier than these fictional docs are their real-life counterparts. I should warn you, the last two are men who did really appalling, unethical experiments to unwilling human subjects. It made me a little squeamish to write about them, so skip them if you're not up for it.

It's long been said that genius is linked to madness. If that is true then I've been cheated! I only have one of the two.

Sadly, no. I've not seen the test results.

But my best friend Captain Eggstockings says he's seen them. He's a great pal and watches over me day and night. Which is pretty easy for him since he's a 10 ft tall invisible blue platypus with enormous wings made from delicious cinnamon sticky buns. And he has these really thick magic eyeglasses which he uses to spy me from 100's of miles away. He also says I'd be OK if I would just stay away from the Internet more.

And yes, he is blue and invisible at the same time.

You must have the genius then - no signs of madness there...

Are you mad? That depends on weather you believe the saying, the majority is always sane. I prefer differently alive! like my creations! IGOR! Throw the big red switch! AGAIN! Ha ha ha, HAHAHAHA!

(I should say at this point that the depth of contempt I feel for these so called scientists is unplumbed by any line)

If you are mad, then you should start hanging around idiots......such as poiticians and attorneys (i'm biased).

at least that should make you look like a genius. its all relative.............

Mostly a horrible collection.

But I cannot see how Alfred Nobel and Nikola Tesla ended up in that selection.

Kind Regards....

Probably as their work caused harm to various people, including the death of Nobles youngest brother. (There where a number of other people blowed up, but I don't know how many.) and radition burns to teslas assistants caused by his work with X rays.Tesla was a certified genius, but at times was totally unhinged.
