EPA: RFID Tags Get Green Light

Posted October 29, 2008 8:00 AM

Some are worried about the security and potential invasion of privacy that RFID technology may pose. The Environmental Protection Agency has an opposite view: not only is the disposal of smart tags a negligible problem, they may be an invaluable tool for solving critical environmental issues. Raw materials in short supply, for example, could be tagged for recycling. The tiny tags could reduce millions of tons of waste each year. Is this yet another reason to go full speed ahead with RFID?

As long as I'm not required to get one surgically implanted RFID is a great technology.

If they wanted to tag people all they would have to do is distribute nano sized RFID tech via mandatory inoculation for the flu or a rampant disease.

Or even easier would be to pay the dentists to pop a chip in the first time a kid has to have a cavity filled.

My mind is scary!

If they implant them in humans I'll go into business. Locate and remove or disable. I suppose I would be more receptive if it had a on off switch only I could control so it was for my benifit not the gov.
