How Much Is Enough?

Posted January 01, 2009 8:23 AM

How do verify your semiconductor designs? How do you draw the line between a good result and a bad one? Do you have an effective performance specification? Do you compare a design simulation against that specification? Do you judge by an assessment of the end product's overall function? By simulating a percentage of possible faults? How successful are your criteria? How often do you have to backtrack in the design process to correct errors uncovered during verification? How do you modify your verification process to minimize those occurrences?

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Semiconductor Fabrication, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Semiconductor Fabrication today.

One answer at a time. So here is your first answer.

Enough

What is enough?

Will we ever have enough?

Will there ever be enough?

Will we ever do enough?

Enough

How much is enough wealth?

When you have so much that most of it gathers dust.

How much is enough beauty?

When you see it in everything and everyone around you.

How much is enough fun?

When the only fun you have is helping others have fun.

How much is enough sadness?

When it hurts even when you aren't thinking about it.

Enough

Is your life ever calm enough?

Calmness is a frame of mind seldom achieved.

Is what you give of yourself enough?

Giving your all will strengthen you and others.

Is the love you give enough?

Love is limitless give it without want of return.

Is your friendship enough?

Friendship of the purist will overcome anything.

Enough

Will life ever be enough?

Yes and it will end.

I hope I have been enough to those that have meant the most.

Your Superior is not superior to you, but it is an interesting line.

Make specification, test possibility, negotiate with customer about cost, modify specification, make test product, check according specification, modify product/specification/negotiate with costumer or redesign, continue this until customer is satisfied then start producing (then still changes will be made)
