World’s First LS9 Powered 2010 Camaro SS

Posted July 02, 2009 12:02 AM by CarDomain

This is the first shot of the Hennessey's new baby running, and does it sound mean. Sure, the open headers have something to do with it, but still, damn. I have to wonder how wicked it sounds in person.

But while I think the idea of dropping the ZR1's powerplant into a new Camaro is cool— and I think the guys at Hennessey are wizards — the $109K price tag does give me pause.

Seriously, if we're talking that kind of money, I'd rather have the Corvette. Because while a 705HP Camaro is going to be fast as hell, in my opinion the ZR1 looks cooler, and it'll definitely get around the track faster. Which would you guys choose?

If I were limited between the two choices I would prefer the Corvette, mostly because it is more of a sports car.

Sounds sano.

In my experience camero's smoke vette's quite often in all performance venues

Maybe, but I would be happier in a sports car that is underpowered compared to a sedan of any power.

Now, you can argue that the Corvette is not a sports car, but given the two choices, I would rather have the Corvette.

Given that in reality I have a much, much wider array of choices, I would choose neither car, but that is just me.

I could not agree more.

"Given that in reality I have a much, much wider array of choices, I would choose neither car, but that is just me".

This type of retro really does not sit well with me.

And, I would really prefer to build My own.

You're in the right, a 2.0 Saab turbo's about my speed...it's somewhere between a four seater motorcycle and warm and dry grocery getter

The Camero, Corvettes were out of My price range with the first Camaros, so It is nostalgic, and besides who the hell wants to go in circles?

I ran them straight to the finish line in my Drag Racing days.

Tin rocks, plastic knocks.

Pesonally I'd prefer the Camaro over the Corvette. I quit liking Vets when they stopped being sports car sized and more sedan sized. The Camaro has always been more sedan sized so its never really changed.

The Corvette will hold its own against most of the world's great sports cars and would be my first choice. My only reason for selecting the Camero would be if I needed room for more than one passenger.

Based on the fact my wife says we need room for the grand kids, the Camaro is now our choice. We are looking at getting an "SS" but, a Camaro with an LS9 power plant sounds interesting. Either way price is not as big an issue as getting something that is fun to drive.

Good looking car, Yes, A proven Muscle Car, No, Not Yet.

Can most of us afford this car while most of America is trying to

keep their homes with the fear of losing their jobs, I, for one think not.

In the real world this is a great dream car just like my 69 dodge charger r/t was

only when I was in school mother and dad was there to help.

G.M. is a little to late with this production car as it will most likely be the most

popular ride of the state police and local police in your cities and towns.

As we all know and still know Detroit is not the giant it was in the past.

My thoughts are that GM should of kept the Camaro & Firebird alive as we all

see to little to late. I have owned both of the GM cars although not great they

were good sports cars with a few modifications.
