Frozen Mammoth found in Siberia.

07/11/2007 1:03 PM

Yet another Frozen Mammoth has been found. This one is an infant , said to be in an excellent state of preservation. It is reportedly being sent to Japan for research.

Read about it in this link.

Would anybody care to comment or discuss the possibilities for Genetic Engineering/ re-creating Mammoths etc ?

An elephant seems to be a mammoth without a Jersey. They could therefore try cloning on elephants (African or Indian).

It will do wonders to the ivory trade.

Since we are free associating on the general topic, there was some discussion in a book titled "the coming global superstorm" about mammoths being flash frozen with indigenous undigested flowers in their mouths and stomachs and surrounding fauna.

I have it on good authority that the Japanese researchers have suspended the baby Mammoth in a sling and are feeding it a steady diet of milk. They want to determine whether the veal they create rivals beef! I've been to Japan, and I will never forget seeing certain sea specimens trying to crawl off the grille! LOL!

Decades ago (watch it, I may be showing some age), I read that the Inuit (Eskimo people) had a word in their language for mammoth meat, and that frozen mammoths were considered valid food, when found. --They had not decomposed nor putrefied, despite their very great time while frozen.

Some they ate raw, some they ate (drank) while they swam around in a cup... Special Shabu-Shabu.
