Many either don't know or have forgotten about the New Horizons spacecraft. It was launched years ago and will do a close fly-by of the planet comet rock whatever Pluto on July 14th. It is much too early for mainstream media to take notice but Fredski has sniffed out some images.

The NASA channel has a really interesting 1 hour special on the New Horizons mission. Finding programs on the NASA channel is a bit like finding Pluto in the sky. Not easy to do but worth the effort.

A dwarf person is still a person.

A dwarf planet is still a planet.

For information, there is some excitement as of 2nd July at the Lovell Observatory, Jodrell Bank radio telescope, about the close approach in the next few days. There is very little on the UK's television and radio as yet.

It now appears that Pluto is a binary planet/rock. It and one of it's neighbours circle each other giving a centre of gravity that is external to Pluto. It is around this centre of gravity that the other rocks/moons orbit.
