What does the owner's manual say or stated on the data plate? Have called the manufacture? They might know if you tell them the model number

1275 kva right from the start. The mfg will stipulate a continuous load rating which be less than 1275 kva. Check the spec sheet for this information or nameplate.

Thats my point, like all other questions posted on CR4, 1/2 or less required info. is provided by the OP. Even my GF couldn't figured it out without the model number.

The operation manual should provide all the specs for this set up.

You have left out the time factor....maximum load for what period of time?,,,This will vary from generator to generator.....so you must check the manufacturers spec sheet, or test it yourself...

I just found my "magic smoke refill kit" for the self- test failures!

It's an either/or situation. Either you reach the real power limitation of the prime mover, or you reach the apparent power limitation of the generator. Unfortunately you have only provided information on the generator and nothing on the prime mover, so your question goes unanswerable until you do.

That would be dependent on its condition. If it is in good order, maybe a couple of tonnes. If the thing is scrap metal and its outer casing shot to bits, then it might not support any weight at all.

It is unusual to use a generator to support the weight of a mechanical load; can't this load be placed on the ground instead of using a generator to prop it up?

Re: Generator Question

Your maximum load should be the maximum current rating of the generator which by calculation of the active power,we can get the current rating of the generator as follows:

I= P/√3xVxCosΦ, I=current, P=1020kw,√3=3phase network, V=415,CosΦ=0.8

I= 1020x1000/1.732x415x0.8

I= 1020000/575.024

I= 1773.839 Amps.

The maximum load you can apply on this generator is 1773.839 Amps.

However,it is recommended to run safely at 80% load,which is 1419.0712 Amps.

Regards

Do you want it to break or not? Please define "Maximum Load!"

Obviously you survived the flywheel lift, but seems you still haven't opened any of your text books yet.
