I'm only worth $3955! What does the length of your hair have to do with your body worth? If I take up smoking will I be worth more?

Yeah, I haven't smoked in years and don't drink much anymore. Who'd have thought that would reduce my value. It's got to be the hair too, since I don't have any.

According to the calculator, I'm only worth $3665 but I suspect I'd actually have to pay.

$4930

They can use my skeleton to show to children what not to do.

All the other parts are good. Must be genes - my granny died at 104. my mother is 94 and as fit as a fiddle , Drives her own car - any distance.

I had a lower back fusion some 14 years ago and I was earning money while in bed on my back - but I wasn't selling my body for money.

Del - they did not even ask me about pets! That may have scored some more points.

Today I am worth $4440.00. Now I find it hard to believe that they really dont want to know what I was doing half a lifetime ago. It wasn't pretty. More like a science project gone wrong. I guess my value could go either way based o what they were studying. Hell they might even discover something new! Put a price tag on that possibility!

First I tried to sound healthy and was worth $6685, then unhealthy and was worth $5320. The reality was a lot less than either figure. I don't know whether to offer spares or just put in a bid to one of you lot. Meantime, I'm not even going to chance this one.

Heck I just checked, and I need to make a decision f...

Re: Sell Your Body for Science: How Much are You Worth?

Selecting Choice #1 for all 20 questions results in a worth of $8560.

Changing your selection to Choice #2 for question 1 (ie, 1.1 --> 1.2) reduces your worth by $500 (ie, $8060)

Changing 1.2 --> 1.3 reduces it an additional $100: $7960.

1.3 --> 1.4: +$100: $8060

1.4 --> 1.5: +$200: $8260

1.5 --> 1.6: +$300: $8560

So would an obese bodybuilder be worth an additional $500, or $9060?

Jack has been swapping with the red dude for a while now. He's a mythical (?) London chap from long ago. The stories of parole etc are many and varied, but discretion is the better part of valour.

I tried the combination of an obese body builder child who has gigantism and elephantitis. Surely this cadver would have been worth more than ~$8500!

The link says I'm worth $5450 dead. To whom and for what? Did I miss something.

Last time I read about the chemical content of the human body was worth something like $3.00 of so.

When I'm gone it doesn't make a bit of difference to me! Why should I worry about it now?

Just another DAQ

I'm a little better at $3,215. I think it's the nasty environments that lowered my self-worth; and I've been working so hard on it.

Follow this link to see when you (rather your survivors) can cash in.

Hey mareng,

That death clock is a crock! I entered the requested data and clicked "Find Death date". It gave me June 20, 2037. I clicked it again (same data) and it gave me May, 23, 2028. Did it again and it gave me May 30, 2026. Notice the pattern? Each time I click it the year until death date gets closer! Moral: Stop while you're ahead!

Anyway, on body worth I clock in at $4830. If I change only one question: from "athletic" to "bodybuilder" I'm worth $5130. Seems to me like an athletic person. i.e., one with healthy heart/lung mechanism, etc. would have more of a resale value than just heavy muscle tissue. Be interesting to see how they assign values to their parameters.

That phrase "Cadaver values are primarily based on overall health and the level of interest your corpse holds to the medical research industry " is slightly ambiguous. I was worth little more than 3k, but death-clock (hey, nobody saw my #11 <sulk>) said I was going to die next year. That qualifies me as a medical curiosity, but nobody is going to find out why for that kind of money.

"Die, my dear doctor! That's the last thing I shall do!"

Personally, I would have been quite satisfied with the first date, considering my (woe is me) self worth.

Johnjohn, perhaps the program calculated that you were in a rush of some sort.

According to that clock thingie, I died six years ago. A prompt call to my surprised tax man reveals my death benefits are now so far in arrears (with interest) that I can write a check for that awesome beachhouse in The Hamptons plus two Porsche Carrera Turbos. One for me and one for my dead girlfriend.

Re: Sell Your Body for Science: How Much are You Worth?

Okay-I'm worth $4,175.00 so the wife said to keep the day job at least until I again have life insurance. According to another calculator I will live to the age of 80.5 years. So, that's just a bit more than $5.00/year value!

Now, if anyone ever asks about my net worth, I'll be able to quickly do the math as long as I remember my current age. Of course, adjusting for inflation the number should change. Using an inflation rate of 3% annually, the "rule of 72" and determining that in twenty-four (24) years my corpse will be priced at twice its current value, but not really worth a penny more.

I guess this leads to a now proven misconception-it will be hard to call someone a worthless a$$ after this enlightenment!

Regards,

Ing. Robert Forbus

If anybody wants to do some sums;

"The U.S. Bureau of Chemistry and Soils invested many a hard-earned tax dollar in calculating the chemical and mineral composition of the human body, which breaks down as follows:

  • 65% Oxygen
  • 18% Carbon
  • 10% Hydrogen
  • 3% Nitrogen
  • 1.5% Calcium
  • 1% Phosphorous
  • 0.35% Potassium
  • 0.25% Sulfur
  • 0.15% Sodium
  • 0.15% Chlorine
  • 0.05% Magnesium
  • 0.0004% Iron
  • 0.00004% Iodine "

In your case, wouldn't the composition be more like 100% brimstone? That is, when you assume physical form? Hehe ;-) (Btw, Maria >is< a nun. Old habits die hard. Nudge Nudge.)

When I'm Brimstone, I'm probably worth more ! This is a confusing dilema.
