What Happened to my Daily Digest email?

Good morning, As of last week my daily digest email stopped coming to my inbox. Any reason why it stopped? I enjoy reading the blogs and comments everyday. I'll signup again if I have to.

Thanks SolarEagle. My preferences do show that I'm subscribed to the daily digest.

I might just try creating a new profile. We aren't blocking anything according the the Network guys.

Dear Mr. CMMSDON,

Two months back, I faced a similar problem/situation and referred to CR4 Admn.

Mr.SavvyExacta, CR4 ADMN/MODERATOR checked/monitored continuously and informed me that every thing is OK on the CR4 side, and the problem is on the receieving side of my mail. My friends and colleagues were receiving, but not me.

I requested my friend to forward me every day and he did, I receieved. the CR4 from him. Pl. post your personal mail Id. through CR4 Personal Messaging system and I can forward to you till the problem is solved. This is a temporary solution. Right from day one of my joining CR4 I have stored every day in a seperate folder except for few days.

You have not mentioned the mail service provider - such as rediff, or gmail etc. In the rediffmail system, a new category is introduced - known as "BULK MAIL" I have subscribed for other News Letters of CR4 group - IHS, and all these have been grouped as BULK MAIL and I found all CR4 in the BULK MAIL. IF YOUR MAIL IS REDIFF, pl. check in the BULK MAIL instead of IN BOX. You can find BULK MAIL indicator next to INBOX.

Alternatively, create another mail Id. and get enrolled in the CR4 for which I am not sure whether CR4 ADMN will approve this.

According to your CR4 profile it looks like you're subscribed. So, it's likely that one of two things happened:

  • You marked any email from IHS Engineering360 (GlobalSpec) as spam. This would unsubscribe you from ALL mailings, including the Daily Dgiest.
  • The emails are somehow being filtered to a bulk or junk folder by your email provider.

I've put in a request to determine if you were unsubscribed due to marking an email as spam. I'll let you know what I find out.

Thanks Savvy,

I do get quite a few emails from IHS Engineering360 on various topics every day. That hasn't stopped. I really am starting to miss the snarky replies to users both signed in and anonymous who don't want to do their own research first. This is making me actually work the first 15-20 minutes each morning.

Dear Mr. SavvyExacta

The problem informed by Mr. CMMSDON is similar to my problem faced about 2 months back. You also guided me and the CR4 Daily Digest started coming (after 5 days of the problem reporting) in the BULK MAIL.

The service provider has given an option to decide to confirm CR4 is not Bulk Mail, and accordingly I confirmed - CR4 DAILY DIGEST is not Bulk Mail. But the CR4 Daily Digest comes in the Bulk Mail only, and IHS Engineering360 (GlobalSpec) is coming in the In Box. As long as CR4 is coming in the In Box or Bulk mail, I am satisfied.

However I did not receieve CR4 on 15th November,2015, I will request my friend to forward the same. If he also not got it, I will inform you and I request you to help me to get the same.

I know Savvy Exacta is checking for you, but I actually prefer to just go to http://cr4.globalspec.com/ When I have time to check varies from day to day, and this way I see the most recent subjects. If I check after lunch, why wait until tomorrow to see this morning's threads?

Wish I had a good answer for you but you are not alone. I have had the same problem about 4 times. Everything OK, then no messages about forums. Suddenly start getting the messages again. All the time I still received the daily list of new subjects

The only thing I can correlate this with is prior to it happening I deleted all but a few CR4 messages in my Microsoft Outlook. The problem would then start again very soon. This is what I remember so don't shoot me if it is off a little but that's what I recall.

Do you use Microsoft Outlook and have deleted notifications lately? This could be my imagination or a real problem.

I had the same situation as you Old Salt, messages stopped for months then restarted again. I delete CR4 messages as soon as I've read them so I don't think that is connected.

Outlook have introduced a new folder called 'clutter' which started collecting mail until I told it not to.

Funny, I too have just suffered the same problem. One day, about two months ago, I just stopped receiving the daily digest. I started to experience cold sweats, sleeplessness and the shakes, because I wasn't getting my daily fix.:-P

Seriously, I contacted the mods and Global Spec Admin, I was also advised to check my spam, junk mail, etc. There were no issues. I could find nothing wrong. This went back and forth for about a month. Then, one of the Admin's suggested that I start a new global spec profile. That didn't appeal to me, either but, it got me thinking that there could be something wonky with my profile, though. I unsubscribed from everything on GlobalSpec/CR4 then, re-subscribed to the CR4 daily digest only. That seemed to fix the problem, for me at least. It has been working again, for about three weeks now. I haven't tried to re-subscribe to anything else yet. YMMV

As others have said, you have probably unintentionally unsubscribed. Happened to me once also, but it was easy to reestablish by googling CR4 or the path given elsewhere in this thread.

If I recall correctly just had to find your handle and check your status.

For anyone else who stops receiving the Daily Digest, and anyone who wants to make sure it keeps arriving, it's strongly recommended that you add reply@email.engineering360.com to your list of safe senders.
