Uniterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

11/25/2015 10:21 PM

Helo guys.... we need a 1.2MVA to 3MVA UPS in our facility and most of all their technical specification regarding the input and output voltage falls on 380/400vac 3-phase and we have only 240 vac 3-phase supply in our facility... what should we do? thanks

My advice would be to add a step down transformer and purchase a more standard UPS.

Alternatively, purchase multiple small 240V UPS systems to cover critical plant and consider purchasing a generator and automatic transfer switch (with the small UPSs providing the no-break capability while the generator transfers over).

You're not telling the whole story....You must have a higher voltage feed coming into the building, and probably several step down transformers...Is this a server farm?

ABB make a 220v ±10% 3 phase unit that would likely suit your needs.

Be aware that the autonomy time for these devices at full or large part load is only in the seconds range, so if your power fluctuations are much greater than 15 seconds or so you would be better served with a genset.

Obviously, revise the incoming power supply to 380/400vac 3-phase!

Wow... 3MVA at 240 volts. Time to re-engineer your electrical system.

It's time for you to resign before your facility realises you are taking money under false pretences.

It may well be time to call in Legozit to re-engineer their plant

Can you imagine the size of a 3MVA 240V three phase UPS, it would be massive.

I'd rather not imagine it if you don't mind.

I had to change the battery banks in a .5MVA unit, my back has started to ache at the very thought of it.

Use a step up trafo from 3 x 220 , to 3 x 380 ' add the ups , and a step down trafo from 3 x 380 to 3 x 220 .

What should we do? Look for other vendors would be a good start.

This is not a consumer product. It will be built to order any way you want it.

Where are you?

I think, you should buy a book or befriend an electrical engineer or call a vendor as what others also suggest.

Mr. yhang, (you have to be a male, a female has enough sense to know when she in over her head)

You sir, are masquerading as someone who has electrical engineering knowledge, which you do not seem to have. Your last three threads that you started, asking questions that, as someone knowledgeable, should know the answers or at least know how to search for the information that your seeking, but yet you have the audacity² to call a long time member of this forum a fool. It's you my friend that is a fool¹, but you don't know enough to realize it. Hopefully you will come to your senses and quit your masquerading before you or some innocent person gets killed by your knowledge or lack of ..... I did take the time to add links to some words for your clarification
