I Posted the Answer to "What's this?", But No One Went Back!?

There seemed to be some interest anyway. I am directing the answer to that "What's this?" for those of ADD (what were we talking about?) sensibilities here.

I thought the circuit board quality and detail were quite remarkable. The Cu cladding is quite thick - I guess in 1989 at $89.95 a pop, they could well afford to do that.

Ah, the old slip stick! I still have a couple of those around somewhere. I used to wear one on my belt in Engineering School.

I have three slide rules: y first one was a 5-inch-long Hungarian on, type "Gamma". It was accurate but too thick; about 3/4". Next I managed to get a German one, Reiss, it was much thinner, less than 1/2". Later, at the university I got a large (15") Faber & Castell one from Czechoslovakia.

Didn't feel the need to comment.

Regarding slide rule being slower, nope.

Multiply 10,000 x 10,000 on each one, see which gives the quicker answer.

Way back when, we were taught the associative, distributive, and commutative properties of operations. That made a whole lot make sense to me. I wonder if they are still teaching that?
