Sneek Peak

07/28/2007 3:23 PM

Sneek peak at Del's diatribe..From 'Engineering in the Summertime when there's Now't to Report'

The current trend for new micro miniature connector interface standards has reached a new low with FR86 quango finally moving into the last phase...early conclusions are reported to be that the next generation of HDTV ready biscuits will in fact be the old favourites Digestive and Rich tea.Whilst some see this as a regressive step it is deemed to be vital in the ideation phase of specification compilation with regard to maintain continuity of throughput parameters.

The whole HDTV program is deemed a huge success have only take approximately half century to reach fruition insofar as, at last a gullible, or rather 'technologically aware' public is on stream with the out pourings of industry keen to see us all ensconced in rooms that have flat screen TVs at least as big as a wall.

It is rumoured that the British Government will be propping up the few remaining CRT producers by taking their output and using it to build flood defences.

(Apologies to Moose and the guys...and anyone else who is offended by this little jest)

Dear Sir,

I resmble your remarks.

My 1024" Plasma HDTV is invaluable as I am now able to watch to golf whilst mowing the lawn. And I belive that befor the turn of the century we shall have som compatible HDTV transmissions, assuming that I am still alive and able to afford to pay the premium for them.

The quality of this achievement is on a par with the whole transition n n

Rich people will not have large HDDTVs, of course. They will install stages and have actors perform their favorite shows.

There you go, see. It's like I said on our slime chat. We are evolving backwards to more reliable simpler ways. I'm going to go practice blowing paint over my hand. It'll mess up the tasteful flock wallpaper, but could be time well invested for when I get a full blown cave. It's all starting to fit. Even our good old John Prescott was an evolutionary step back in politics. I've got to rush off....

On the other hand, we may continue to evolve into super, giant brains that get around on mopeds.

Did it make you as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs?

You could run away to Katmandu!

Hi Del,

You wouldn't by chance be related to Oscar Katvorkian would you?

Oscar only arrives when they've already started to die. Del presents more of a Chicken/Egg paradox.

So you're lying in bed...an the cat jumps up and curls up next to you...

Jeez I hope the patients don't know his record... or the shock of him jumping on the bed would darn well kill you!

Does he have a little hooded cape and a scythe?

Surely the poor staff and relatives are missing the point here. We put cats 'out of their misery' don't we? It has to be the first cat I've come across with a conscience though.

By the way, why the massive cat thing? Its not just this forum either.

Re: Sneek Peak

I think that if all those stories of Big Cats roaming England were true, a Farmer or someone would have bagged an example by now. The Idea is plausible, given some of the strange pets people keep. More so in Ireland, where they had looser laws until recently and people had to dispose of their exotic critters. It doesn't seem possible to me that there could be a breading population though. I've seen many fans of these things exhibit casts of paw prints, but they could be the innocent victim of hoaxers. Another point is that even during dry spells, nobody has found Panther/Puma cr&**. With no rain to wash it away, and native animals likely to run from it, then why has none been found. My conclusion is that it's an urban myth initiated by hoaxers who are not zoo workers. That doesn't answer it much, but it's a start. On the other hand, it might be that Mrs Del is very happy and wants the world to know.

She does a several octaves on her own so I spared her. Only mono-tone cats get pianified.

A friend of mine painted a horrible mental picture from this. Basically Billy Joel playing the instrument with Yoko Ono on vocals. Mee-ow-ow-ow!

he-he. An entire orchestra could be built in the principle, not just Yoko in a piano box. Pavarotti having bricks dropped on him for bass, Bee-Gees stood by the Hi-Hats etc. Bjork could just sort of stand there duct-taped as some kind of arty installation.
