Synchronous Generator Question

Hi everyone

What is the position of rotor north pole w.r.t conductor when induced emf in the conductor is at the peak in the synchronous generator.

Consider the terminal is shorted.

If the terminal is shorted, then the emf is zero, therefore the pole's position is irrelevant.

One hopes that the generator's protective equipment can operate to disconnect the fault before any damage is done.
