Tech.

05/04/2016 10:27 AM

How is that when something simple is sometimes refired to as "no rocket science ". A rocket has a point on one end and three fins on the other end. It has a patent number of one. the wheel is number two. First man had to kill the animal then he wheeled it out of the woods. So what makes rockets so high tech.? Another thing I would like to point out. Babies can't swim. Put a pound of lard in a bucket of water and you will soon see that fat floats. A baby is 95% fat. It has very little muscle mass and it's boans are not fully developed until it's 18 years old. The most the baby can do to build up it's muscles is to kick it's feet and arms. That's not swiming. Swimming is a technique that needs practice. Just one more thing befor I leave. When a car is involve in a head on collision with another car going the same speed, you do not double the speed when compairing it to hitting a solid nonmovable wall. The speed will still be the same.

Care to try to do the math involved in figuring the launch angle and thrust required to obtain Earth orbit with as little fuel as possible?

I'm sure you can build a rocket, but can you get it to do what you want it to? Look at the fun North Korea is having trying to develop a long range missile. Is that another fizzle and splash I hear? Think you are smarter than their rocket scientists? (now be logical here and not derisive - as much as we disdain them they obviously have some intelligent people - just not a large amount of experience in the technical fields )

That's not a rocket. That is a missile made to go to another part of the world. A rocket only goes in one direction. UP.

NO! UP, is when you tilt your head back and look into the big blue sky, and all the clouds too. That's UP and don't make any nasty coments obout up.

"A rocket has a point on one end and three fins on the other end." No, that sounds more like an arrow than a rocket... in fact, there's a little bit more to an arrow that that, too.

"When a car is involve... The speed will still be the same." Ah, I see why you believe rocket science to be simple.

"A baby is 95% fat." A baby... what... is 95% fat?

And before I leave, hear and remember this: When you make a toasted cheese sandwich, you should take the plastic stuff off the cheese FIRST!

So what makes rockets so high tech.?

Oh, I know the answer but it's something only those of us that worked for NASA can truly appreciate.

Thanks but I started there teaching kids compressed air rocketry (which literally is as simple as it gets) and have moved on to bigger things.

you don't need to go into orbit with a rocket. There's a lot of other reasons for them.

What are you talking about, or are you just a forum Troll?

I just don't follow your reasoning behind your comments, is there a question here or are you just voicing your personal opinions?

well you said only those of you who work for NASA has the answer. So what more is there to know? Fire a rocket in the air. He's only 8 years old. His friends and him paid only $8.95 for it at walgreans.

What's the slowest a rocket can travel and still be rocketing?

Re: Tech.

Depends on your definition of swift which then refers to the definition of fast.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/rocketing

Based of the definitions the technical answer would be.........not moving at all, as fast is defined as Acting, moving, or capable of acting or moving quickly.

As a rocket has the capability of moving quickly then the answer is a rocket is always rocketing as long as it has the capability of doing so (hence a dud or unfueled rocket by definition cannot ever be rocketing unless it is propelled by some external force so it is moving at great speed).
