I guess this means no more mummies for a while. I bet embalming fluid stocks are fluid in the market right now. Quicklime continues to be available for quick profit.

All they need to do is to convert it to a carbon capture facility, have the government invest a whack of dough and then claim a loss on the continued production!!

It seems a little bizarre that they're "next door" to one of the largest oil production counties and yet the price of fuel is killing them. But I can relate, I live less than 50 miles from some of California's largest oil refineries and pay almost 2x's the national average for fuel. At least we're not alone when it comes to suffering from the wrath of OPEC!!

In which area are you in question of? Alexandria or Sacramento, Ca. area?

I took your comment 'oil production' as in raw crude oil from the wells to be not yet refined.

Are you two confused? The Solvay bicarbonate plant is in Alexandria, Egypt, not California.

My comment was about Solvay suffering from the price of fuel. Being Egypt is close in proximity,"next door" to the some of the largest oil producing countries, and they suffer the wrath of OPEC. I also mentioned that I live approximately 50 miles from some of the largest refineries in California, but still pay 2x the national average for a gallon of fuel.

We used to gripe about the high cost of fuel in my home county in West Texas, and we were sitting on something like $870 million per year in oil being sent away to refineries from our county.
