If Trump gets elected president guys like that, (non-white guys with black curly hair doing differential equations) will simply be stood up, shot and thrown off the plane onto the runway........

Nothing's more terrifying than math.

You won't have a whiny, psychopathic, mysogenic, bigoted, racist blowhard who cries and complains when reporters "aren't nice" to him, with a superiority complex and persecution complex all rolled into one, who has insulted everyone on the planet!

Oh, lying and unfaithful SOB too.

Given the choice, HILLARY! Distasteful as that is, I'll take her.

So true.

Sadly, we're doomed to live the constant election cycle and dysfunction of Washington politics.

The days of country before self have given way to lawyers, lobbyists, power and money.

You are more than welcome to her! Be interesting to see what you do with a power-hungry/money-hungry sociopath who once ensconced in the seat of power will refuse to voluntarily vacate it.

With the Vince Foster incident and much more downright criminality surrounding the Rodhams and Clintons, I will choose Trump as a lesser of 2 evils, though I believe he has a degree of corruption also.

Still, it is getting increasingly difficult to find anyone good among the candidates.

I hate what our country has become.

But I think they probably are somewhat more understanding and tolerant.

Did anyone scroll down to the comments section?

...

I did.

...

...

Big mistake.

It was all either bashing the professor for being a Liberal, accusing him of being a terrorist simply because of the photo, or poking fun at the woman as being the product of a Liberal education.

If that's the sort of mindset that comes from being a Zox News watcher, I'm swearing off Fox completely! No more of ANY Fox channels! (Well, I'll still watch the Simpsons, when it's a new episode, but, c'mon, it's the Simpsons, they're about as 'anti-Fox' as can be.)

I've always found that people who say that their something their not, are usually the biggest offender of what they claim not to be.

When I want news, I watch Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

(Sadly, it seems like the comedians are the ones bringing up the serious stories, while the 'mainstream' news is nothing but a joke.)

Re: Flight Delayed When Math Mistaken for Terrorism by Passenger

Hah! made you think!

It's nice to get people to look at an issue from multiple sides, helps to figure out which side is right; A, B, Both, Neither, C, or some combination thereof.

I freely and unashamedly change my opinions when I learn that the information I was working on is incorrect or outdated, I don't hold on to ideas out of shear dogma(1). Most 'news agencies' in America end up pushing some agenda or another, even if it's an unconcious bias based off of 'what will capture eyeballs.' The comedians know they will be laughed at whatever they say (it's their job to make people laugh), so they're likely to tell the uncomfortable truths wrapped in a joke, and make the excuse of 'guess that gag fell flat' if people don't laugh.

Notes:

  1. There *IS* one theory I will hold on to regardless of evidence to the contrary: My theory of the Kennedy Assassination. There *WAS* a second shooter on the grassy knoll. ♪Happy Biiiirthday, Mister Pres-i-dent... and I'm go-ing to kill ... you♪ Marilyn's 'suicide' was to clean up the loose ends. Classic pattern: One assassin to do the deed, a second assassin to kill the first before s/he can be questioned. Forces the trail back to the mastermind to go cold.

Colbert's great as well, but if memory served, the Repor is no longer being produced, so it's all in reruns.

Of course not, That's why you have to pull information from multiple sources. And use your knob on your shoulders.

Still may not get the complete picture, may even have to just walk away. But use your head is the bottom line and not your emotions.

But how do you know FOR CERTAIN that you are getting the whole truth? You can't know FOR CERTAIN unless you are actually there! I mistrust all media, though it helps to know what the source is.

How can you know FOR CERTAIN that the world exists? All you experience is the results if various nerve endings being stimulated, with the signals being sent up electrochemical 'wires' to your brain, which makes an 'interpretation' of the combined signals. Can you be 100% sure that your nerves are relaying the right signals, ot that your brain is interpreting the signals correctly?

For that matter, how can you know FOR CERTAIN that your nerves even exist? You assume they ere there, sending data to your brain, but it could be possible that your body does not exist, and some supercomputer or supernatural force is manipulating the 'I/O connections' to your brain to make you THINK the world is real?

#FunWithSolipism

-----

That's why multple news sources are important, if two sources agree on a detail, and neither uses the other as a source, then that detail is more likely to be correct, if they dissagree, at least one is incorrect. The more sources you find, the better picture you get, after you remove the 'redundant branches.' (If the Sun, The Post, and The Herald all claim Associated Press as their only source, then you can assume that they will agree on almost everything, and can remove two from the pool of sources. Or you can get a copy of the raw AP newsfeed and eliminate all three.)

But how do you know FOR CERTAIN that you are getting the whole truth?

You're not and never can be

But that's getting philosophical.... Reminds me of psyc 101 or what ever it was....in college where we touched off on philosophy.

The professor put a chair on the table and had each in the class describe what's in front.... and this is how it went.

Students: "It's plastic and metal"

Professor: "And how do you know its plastic and metal?"

This went on and the students started to get more detailed as well as applying some of their educational knowledge with….

Students: "The seat is a blow molded polymer, and the frame is a high tensile strength carbon steel, with self-tapping fasteners. All the metal is baked enameled….."

Professor: "What kind of metal? What kind of polymer? What kind of enamel?...."

This went on, the students thought it was a no win situation…. Fortunately I was in the middle to be called and a chance give me time to think...

Then he came around to me.

Professor: "Describe the chair"

p911: "What chair?"

Professor: "The chair on the table."

P911: "What table?"

Professor: "THE CHAIR ON THE TABLE IN THE FRONT OF…" and he stopped mid-sentence and stared at me for about half a minute…

Then he dropped it, turned around and went on with his class lesson
