Thank You For Your Service To Our Country

11/11/2016 2:19 PM

I'd like to extend a sincere thank you to all of those men and women who have served, and who also may have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Our parade stretch almost 3/4 mile in length and drew about 7,000-10,000 people. No official count yet.

That is really a nice parade. Does being married to a mean wife count as an ultimate sacrifice too? Just kidding.

Three cheers to all Veterans on this glorious day of their celebration and humble remembrance.

Thank you for your service to your country!

Nicely done, Lyn. I salute and thank you on behalf of my father (d. 1969), a D-Day combatant, and my un-father-in-law, a highly decorated veteran of the CBI theater of operations. Sadly, he passed this year, just shy of his 100th birthday. A most wonderful human being.

What about other countries, though.

My apologies for the omission of other country's women and men who served as well.

Celebrating Veterans Day Around the World. Britain, France, Australia and Canada also commemorate the veterans of World Wars I and II on or near November 11th: Canada has Remembrance Day, while Britain has Remembrance Sunday (the second Sunday of November)

Thank you, all, as well.

My parents served in Missouri for the last month or so of the Vietnam war or so the story goes. I'm not one for getting everything right, but so what?

We can occasionally poke (a little) fun for battling it out with a typewriter and such. I'm fortunate that that was the end of it.

I'm glad for everyone that comes home.

..Very interested in what the years ahead will bring.

There's a lot of work to be done

Thanks are always in order.

O those apron and mallet guys had gone to war? I thought they're only in the senate, congress and white houses.

You're welcome Lyn.
It was an honor to serve our constitution and all citizens of our country.
No. I'm not back...just buzzed and the only one awake.

Thought I'd check in.

Young and dumb back in those days, but there was never any question that we could trump the enemy.

I applaud the kids that are currently serving. Regardless of the situation, our military will always hold the trump card.
Good thread.
