Load you back up copy of the PLC program. If you do not have a back-up copy contact the programmer that wrote the program the first time and see if he still has a copy. Failing that you will need to rewrite the program or pay someone to write it for you.

I'm also assuming that you have propely trouble shot to issue and understand how the PLC you are using works.

Do you have a backup copy? If you don't or no one has a copy, then I'm sorry but we can't help you. The only way that you can restore it is to re-write the program from scratch.

If you do have a copy of the program, some programming software usually requires you to connect or go online to the PLC and select "download". The program then asks you for the name and location of your program on the hard disk. After that, it's all just a matter of starting the actual download.

What is "mc"?

With the Siemens S5 (we have a couple of those), you have to perform a few steps to get the contents of the memory card loaded into the PLC's memory.

  1. Switch off power. Set RUN-STOP-COPY switch to RUN.
  2. Remove the battery and EPROM module.
  3. Switch on power. Wait about 30 seconds.
  4. Switch off power and reinsert the EPROM module. Do not put the battery back in yet.
  5. Switch on power. The "STOP" LED will start blinking. When it stops blinking, the "RUN" LED should light and everything should be back to normal.
  6. Reinsert the battery (do not switch off the power while inserting the battery).

By removing the battery, the memory of the PLC will be wiped clean. When you restore power with the EPROM attached, the CPU will copy the contents of the EPROM module into its memory. If you switch off the power before inserting the battery, the memory will be wiped again and you'll have to do everything all over.

Just one more thing. If your PLC lost its program by itself, it's time to replace the battery. I think it should be replaced every year or two.

I don't like what I think I see here. (from an employers point of view)

You landed a job with no knowledge whatsoever by using a few words learned through us suckers at CR4.

Now that you have to do some work you want us to do it for you.

Incorrect PLC & CNC programming can be costly. You might ruin equipment or material or customer goodwill.

The poor employer, he seem to have bought a cat in the bag.

If I am correct please do the honorable thing and inform your employer and ask him for some in house or formal training. Also inform CR4 of your predicament - There may be liability issues.

for Mr Nishant.

Your query is to be more specific.

which plc-make and type.

do you have the back up copy of the programme.if so where it is,is it in computer memory or in eeprom memory card.

only with these complete information proper solution can be offered.

I have been noticing that you are raising many questions in this forum,it is for you to give more information to furnish so that proper suggestions can be offered.

sorry if I have wounded any one in this context.

similarly some topics especially on busbar ratings,DG selections etc are getting repeated, if the members go through all the queries raised in this forum , they will get most of the answers, before raising new queries.
