Paper-Cutting Simulation Software

09/20/2017 2:27 AM

Hi, fellows!

I'm trying to design a rotary cuting device and in the final stage I need to do simulation of the process. With the standart cad/cae software I can't do the nesesary simulation. Can some one recomend me a software suitable to do this kind of job?

I want to achieve something like this:

You want "animation" software, not simulation software.

Then you need demonstration software, not animation or simulation software.

Not emulation software, then?

You are trying to introduce new vocabulary not yet in evidence.

Maybe I didn't explain it right. I have construction similar to this on the video.I need to test it, what behaviors will have. In conclusion I need to add flexible surface (paper) and check the outputs. Like in the video, but I don't need animation. I need data analise similar to some CAE softwate.

Difficult as it may be to believe, sometimes software may not provide all the answers you want.

You may have to perform actual, physical tests on real materials with your contraption.

But, here are some possibilities:

Back in my engineering days, we actually had to build prototypes and test them so I may not be a very good source of information.

Can't you just build a prototype machine and run it on some actual paper, then tweak it into shape? Aren't you making this harder than need be?

yes,... for demonstration purposes, animation software will do it... what of software do you have currently?...

it would be nice to be able to import it and keep the constraints for animation.

Inventor and Solidworks does has these capabilities... what's in your budget?
